A magnificent hundred from George Seller helped the Cricket Derbyshire Academy claimed their second successive victory with a convincing 209-run win against Alvaston and Boulton.
Batting first, the Cricket Derbyshire Academy in partnership with the University of Derby posted 276-4 off their 50 overs.
Openers Tom Wood and George Seller completed a 100-run opening stand to lay the foundations for an imposing total against their Premier League counterparts.
Wood was the first man out for an excellent 51, but Seller continued his superb innings to complete his first century for the Academy before finally falling for 128. Callum Brodrick then added some valuable late runs ending the innings unbeaten on 65.
In response, Alvaston and Boulton lost a flurry of early wickets to slump to 26-5 inside 11 overs. Will Davis (2-18) claimed two wickets from his opening seven over spell, while Peat (3-10) picked up three poles in his seven over stint.
Harry Killoran (2-26 off 7 overs) and Bee (2-10 off 6 overs) both also enjoyed similar success with the ball as the hosts were dismissed for just 67 to hand complete a convincing win for the Academy.
