Second XI T20 (2) Friendly: Derbyshire v Durham: Monday 5 May 2014 at Glossop Cricket Club
Derbyshire Second XI claimed back-to-back victories against Durham in two Twenty20 friendlies at Glossop Cricket Club.
Derbyshire selected a strong line-up for both fixtures with a number of first team players featuring for John Sadler’s side.
In Game One, Derbyshire posted 203-5 off their 20 overs with Stephen Moore (54), Wes Durston (27), Chesney Hughes (44) and Billy Godleman (35) all making useful contributions.
In reply, Durham closed on 190-7 as Derbyshire claimed a 13-run victory. Alex Hughes was the pick of the bowlers returning figures of 3-30 off his four overs, while Ben Cotton (2-33 off four overs) picked up two wickets.
In Game Two, Derbyshire were dismissed for 143 with Chesney Hughes top scoring with 39 while Jonathan Clare added 33.
The Derbyshire bowlers were outstanding in reply, dismissing their visitors for just 95 to hand Derbyshire a 48-run win.
All-rounder Durston was the pick of the bowlers finishing with impressive figures of 3-18 off four overs, while Tom Knight also claimed three wickets with figures of 3-7 off 1.4 overs. Cotton (1-11 off two overs), Chesney Hughes (1-25 off four overs) and Alex Hughes (1-25 off three overs) all claimed a wicket apiece.
