Centurion Dan Redfern praised team-mate David Wainwright for ‘never bowling a bad ball’ after Derbyshire’s new signing took 6-33 in the victory over Northamptonshire.
Redfern, who scored his maiden first-class century in the first innings of the match, says Wainwright is just the bowler Derbyshire need as they target a successful campaign.
The young left-hander also talks about wrestling the monkey off his back by scoring the said century, as well as revealing what he said to batting partner Ross Whiteley whilst taking off for the first of the three runs that took him to the landmark.
There is also words of encouragement for Paul Borrington and praise for second innings centurion Martin Guptill, although Redfern warns his team-mates to keep their feet on the ground and concentrate on 15 LV= County Championship matches to come.
