Ambitious Clare keen to kick on

Jon Clare BowlingDerbyshire’s Jonathan Clare is aiming to develop into the “perfect all-rounder” this summer.

The Burnley-born seamer enjoyed his finest season to date in 2011, contributing 43 wickets and 688 runs to a side that finished fifth in Division Two of the LV= County Championship.

Madsen's wait almost over

Wayne MadsenThe wait is nearly over for new skipper Wayne Madsen as he looks ahead to the challenge of leading Derbyshire into the 2012 season.

South African born Madsen has now been with the club for three seasons after moving to England in 2009 and he has been one of the Falcons’ most consistent performers. He now he faces a new challenge as leader of a young but ambitious Derbyshire outfit.

The right-handed batsman, who has captaincy experience with Kwazulu-Natal, has big plans for the side and he believes they can soon be pushing for trophies.

Garry Park interview

Derbyshire all-rounder Garry Park says Rana Naved is a great signing who will pass on his knowledge to the Falcons’ youthful squad.

Durston looks forward to the new season

With less than two months left until the start of the 2012 campaign, Wes Durston believes everything is starting to fall into place as the Falcons prepare for their pre-season tour to Barbados.

The squad will fly out to the Caribbean in the middle of March where they will compete against fellow LV= County Championship Division Two sides Hampshire and Yorkshire as well as taking part in a Twenty20 tournament.

Guptill tips team-mates for the top

Martin Guptill hopes to face several of his Derbyshire team-mates in the international arena in the future.

The New Zealand international, who is returning for a second spell at the County Ground in 2012, is already looking forward to arriving in the UK and has tipped a trio of young Derbyshire players for higher honours.

Kevin Dean Interview

Newly appointed Derbyshire committee member Kevin Dean has emphasised the importance of nurturing young players – both for the future of the Club and in the hope of unearthing a future international.

The 36-year-old spent his entire career with Derbyshire, making his first-class debut in 1996 and retiring in 2008.
