Cricket Derbyshire | Sponsorship and Events Sales Executive

As part of Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s ambitious commercial strategy, the Club is seeking a highly-motivated and successful sales professional to grow the Club’s revenue from cricket and non-cricket activity.

The Club is embarking on an exciting £1million ground development project that will significantly enhance facilities available at The 3aaa County Ground - not only for cricket but as a unique 365-day-a-year Conference and Events venue at the heart the City of Derby.

This is next phase in the Club’s quest for sustainable on-field success across all three domestic competitions, combined with the desire to produce England cricketers. The successful candidate will play a huge part in driving this ambition in what is an exciting period in the Club’s history.

Reporting to the Club’s Commercial Director, the Sponsorship and Events Sales Executive will work as part of a team to secure new commercial partners through sponsorship and hospitality as part of the successful 1870 Business Club.

They will also maximise the commercial capacity of the new conference and event facilities through existing and new
relationships.

With at least two years commercial sales or customer service experience, the successful individual will demonstrate a passion for achieving individual targets, an experience of account management and building relationships as well as an ability to work as part of an effective team.

Whilst an experience of cricket and sport is not essential, an interest in cricket would make the role doubly rewarding for the successful candidate.

The salary for this role is £30k OTE.

Cricket Derbyshire | Finance Manager

Derbyshire County Cricket Club is seeking a highly-motivated and successful Finance Manager to support the next exciting phase in the Club’s development - achieving success on the cricket field and also growing our unique 365 day a year conference and events venue at the heart the City of Derby.

The role is extremely broad and highly rewarding and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to operate at all levels from hands-on financial management tasks to strategic planning with the Supervisory Board.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, and with two direct reports, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of financial results from annual budgeting and cashflow to credit control.

You will also be responsible for ensuring monthly financial management reports and controls are in place in order to keep senior management appraised of business performance and take a lead on driving efficiencies through the business to improve return on sales and profitability.

You will have overall responsibility for company payroll and book keeping and personally liaise with the ECB, the governing body of English Cricket to deliver timely and accurate reporting and player administration.

As a member of the Supervisory Board responsible for the overall management of the Club, you will work with the Finance Director and Chief Executive on financial strategy and manage company secretarial duties in compliance with standards.

With the support of a dedicated IT Business Support team member, you will also be responsible for the Club’s information systems and liaison with our IT partners.

You will be a fully qualified accountant who is able to work at Board level but also thrives in an environment where hands-on personal commitment and a passion for working as part of a team will drive success. Whilst an experience of cricket and sport is not essential, an interest in cricket would make the role doubly rewarding for the successful candidate.

The basic salary for this role is £30k - £40K based on experience.
