Marketing & Promotions Manager

Derbyshire County Cricket Club is seeking an ambitious Marketing & Promotions Manager to deliver the marketing of the Club’s Conference & Events, Cricket for Business, Ticketing, Membership and Community activity. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the promotion of The Derbyshire Experience; encompassing Conferences, Meetings, Weddings and Events at The 3aaa County Ground.

The Marketing & Promotions Manager will also target sustainable growth in ticketing and membership, fuelled in particular by the vast popularity of Twenty20 cricket in which Derbyshire play seven home matches during the action-packed summer of cricket.

The new appointment will deliver projects within the Club’s Proud to be Derbyshire branding which, having been in place for two years, is evoking brand loyalty from its audience and has earned praise from the England & Wales Cricket Board.

We are looking for a candidate with at least two years’ experience in a marketing role, preferably including venue marketing. An interest in cricket is also beneficial.

Salary: IRO £20k-£22k

Direct Report: CRM & Ticketing Executive

Key Objectives 

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, key objectives will be:

  • Establish The Derbyshire Experience at The 3aaa County Ground’s as a leading destination within the city of Derby and the wider county, both for match-day hospitality and non-match-day events.
  • Raise awareness of the Club’s Conference & Events facilities and create leads for the Sales team.
  • Grow the Club’s NatWest T20 Blast audience.
  • Implement the marketing and communications function behind the Club’s 6-stage strategy for pre-event, in-event and post-event delivery across Cricket-for-Business occasions.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and establish insights by gathering robust post-event feedback.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with at least two years’ experience in a marketing role, preferably including venue marketing. An interest in cricket is also beneficial.

Education to degree standard is preferred but not essential if an impressive level of experience has been obtained.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with the communication skills to thrive in a dynamic and creative environment.

Flexibility for evening and weekend working will be required to service the demands of the business.

Competencies required

• Comfortable in working databases to market via direct communications with existing, potential and lapsed customers

• Knowledge of Display, Paid Search and Social Advertising

• Data analysis and knowledge of how to convert it into insights and intelligent marketing

• Ability to deliver marketing projects from creative brief through to delivery

• Budgeting skills

• CRM software experience

Sous Chef

Derbyshire County Cricket Club is seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Sous Chef who will play a pivotal role in the transition of our £1m+ catering operation from our existing contract catering model to a high quality, customer focused in-house catering operation.

The role is broad and highly rewarding; the successful candidate will assist in developing the Club’s match-day food offering; specifically hospitality and fast food kiosks and for the growing Conference, Meetings, Weddings and Events business at The 3aaa County Ground. 

Continual development of the business; menus, products and presentation, service techniques and operational efficiencies will be essential for the success of the role.

Key Objectives

Reporting to the Head Chef your key objectives will be:

  • Set the standard for  “Proud to be Derbyshire” customer service throughout the organisation by championing this through the catering team
  • Help to develop, design and produce menus and templates with portion controls that lead into stock orders and replenishment.
  • Control stock and replenishment, auditing all stock for every event and also oversee audited monthly stock takes.
  • Liaise with key suppliers on standards of service.
  • Help to manage the quality control of the kitchen and food offering.
  • Help to manage, monitor and improve, where required, all Health & Hygiene associated with the department.

We are looking for a candidate with good kitchen knowledge and experience within a catering environment; with basic management and leadership skills.

The successful candidate will provide value to our business by demonstrating excellent knowledge of food within a fast paced environment.

Salary IRO £20K (dependent on experience) plus benefits
