Derbyshire Experience Receptionist and Membership Services

Derbyshire County Cricket Club is an ambitious professional Cricket Club and a unique 365 days-a-year Conference & Events venue
.

The Club has recently invested £1million to significantly enhance facilities at The 3aaa County Ground and the Club now offers more than just cricket. We provide purpose-built Conference & Event facilities for up to 300 people and a unique Derbyshire Experience delivered by our own in-house catering team in an easily accessible location right at the heart of Derby. 

The Position

The Club is seeking an experienced Receptionist on a permanent contract to work part-time in the newly-renovated 3aaa Pavilion and be the welcoming voice and smile of our customers’ Derbyshire Experience.

The primary responsibilities for the position are to offer outstanding customer service in meeting and greeting all business, event and cricket visitors and dealing efficiently, effectively and politely with all enquiries. Exceptional incoming and outgoing phone manner is paramount as well as the ability to complete administrative tasks to a high standard.

The successful applicant will also sell tickets and Memberships over the counter in line with the Club’s ticketing and Membership policies.

Salary

£15,000-£16,000 pro-rata, depending on experience

Key Objectives

Reporting to the Head of Operations, your key objectives will be:

  • To reach and maintain outstanding levels of customer service in delivering the Derbyshire Experience to matchday and non-matchday visitors.
  • To provide warm and memorable welcomes and goodbyes to every customer.
  • Offer helpful information that assist all visitors.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with at least two years’ experience in a receptionist or customer service role, ideally in an events environment. An interest in cricket would also be beneficial. 

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with the communication skills to thrive in a dynamic and creative environment.

Flexibility for evening and weekend working will be required to service the demands of the business.

Competencies required

• Excellent customer service skills and experience working with the general public

• CRM and events management software experience

• Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint proficient

Sous Chef

Derbyshire County Cricket Club is seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Sous Chef who will play a pivotal role in the transition of our £1m+ catering operation from our existing contract catering model to a high quality, customer focused in-house catering operation.

The role is broad and highly rewarding; the successful candidate will assist in developing the Club’s match-day food offering; specifically hospitality and fast food kiosks and for the growing Conference, Meetings, Weddings and Events business at The 3aaa County Ground. 

Continual development of the business; menus, products and presentation, service techniques and operational efficiencies will be essential for the success of the role.

Key Objectives

Reporting to the Head Chef your key objectives will be:

  • Set the standard for  “Proud to be Derbyshire” customer service throughout the organisation by championing this through the catering team
  • Help to develop, design and produce menus and templates with portion controls that lead into stock orders and replenishment.
  • Control stock and replenishment, auditing all stock for every event and also oversee audited monthly stock takes.
  • Liaise with key suppliers on standards of service.
  • Help to manage the quality control of the kitchen and food offering.
  • Help to manage, monitor and improve, where required, all Health & Hygiene associated with the department.

We are looking for a candidate with good kitchen knowledge and experience within a catering environment; with basic management and leadership skills.

The successful candidate will provide value to our business by demonstrating excellent knowledge of food within a fast paced environment.

Salary IRO £20K (dependent on experience) plus benefits
