England stars selected in World Cup Team of the Tournament

Four England players have been named in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 Team of the Tournament.

Heather Knight’s side made it to the semi-finals of the competition in Australia, having beaten the likes of Pakistan and West Indies along the way.

The England captain was named in the side, after scoring 193 runs at an average of 64.33, while three of her teammates joined her in the XI.

Nat Sciver, who will play in Derby later this summer as part of the Trent Rockets side in The Hundred, made the team with 202 runs at an average of 67.33, Sophie Ecclestone was named after taking eight wickets at 6.12 and Anya Shrubsole was also included after also claiming eight wickets at 10.62.

England will travel to The Pattonair County Ground later this summer, to face South Africa in a One-Day International as part of the Royal London Series.

The visitors’ side will contain Laura Wolvaardt, who was also named in the Team of the Tournament after scoring 94 runs at a strike rate of 149.

Knight and her side will be aiming to continue their unbeaten run in Derby, having twice beaten New Zealand in recent years, with tickets for the fixture on-sale now.

England have played in front of good crowds each time they have visited The Pattonair County Ground, and this year is expected to be no different, so buy in advance to secure your place.
