Tony Palladino is excited to see how Derbyshire’s young bowlers continue to develop, and wants to play a part in their progression.
The experienced seamer has more than 450 first-class wickets to his name, and has led the Derbyshire attack for almost a decade.
Now, he’s part of a bowling group that also contains the experience of Ravi Rampaul and Luis Reece, as well as the developing Michael Cohen, Fynn Hudson-Prentice and Sam Conners.
Palladino is looking forward to seeing how the young players in the squad continue to get better, and says he is always happy to offer advice.
“I’m not someone pushes things onto people, but if anyone ever wants a chat, I love cricket and I love talking about bowling, so I’m always approachable,” said Palladino.
“The young lads that we have are all keen to learn, and they have made good strides over the winter.
“That’s the exciting part for us, we have that bank of seamers that we can rely on if we need to use a few more guys.
“That’s not always been the case with us, sometimes guys have had to play when they’re tired, but I think there will be less of that this season.
“It’s going to be a big season for our younger players, we will definitely be using the full squad this season, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how they do.”
