Former captain, Bolus, passes away

The club is saddened by the news that one of our former captains, Brian Bolus, has died.

Bolus, who played 125 matches for Derbyshire between 1973 and 1976, was captain from 1973 to 1975, leading the side in 87 games in all formats.

He scored 4,665 runs with 4 centuries and 27 fifties and a highest score of 151 v Oxford University. His final hundred for the club was an unbeaten 150 against Nottinghamshire at Ilkeston in 1975.

The bulk of his career was spent firstly at Yorkshire and then Nottinghamshire, and he also played 7 Test matches for England.

Everyone associated with Derbyshire County Cricket Club would like to extend their condolences and good wishes to Brian’s family at this time.
