No play possible on Day One

Rain washed out the opening day of Derbyshire’s LV= County Championship fixture against Essex.

Derbyshire won the toss and elected to field first, but the rain arrived before a ball could be bowled at the Cloudfm County Ground.

Australia international Billy Stanlake will make his debut for Derbyshire when play begins, while captain Billy Godleman, Alex Hughes and Dustin Melton have also come into the side for this match.
