Derbyshire seamer, George Scrimshaw, has been called up to the England Lions squad for a pair of One Day International fixtures against South Africa later this month.
Scrimshaw, 24, has been in fine form this season, claiming 21 wickets at an average of 23.85 as the Falcons reached the quarter-finals of the Vitality Blast.
The first ODI takes place on Tuesday 12 July at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, while the second fixture is on Thursday 14 July at New Road, Worcester.
Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “This call up is a testament to George’s hard work and the potential he has as a fast bowler, we’re delighted for him and can’t wait to see how he does against international opposition.
“Our mantra is to be the county of choice and having that pathway into international cricket only strengthens that message.”
