Derbyshire announce Community Fixture

Derbyshire County Cricket Club is set to welcome hundreds of local junior cricketers, as well as school children and community groups, to its annual Community Fixture in the Royal London Cup against Hampshire.

The 50-over fixture, which takes place at The Incora County Ground on Friday 12 August during the school holidays, is an opportunity to welcome new audiences to county cricket and reward local community clubs for continuing to grow the game in Derbyshire.

Working with the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation, the Club will distribute complimentary tickets to All Stars and Dynamos players, as well as local clubs and those taking part in the Foundation’s Summer Holiday Camps.

Derbyshire also extends its long-standing relationship with Revive, which offers a range of services focused on health, wellbeing and to improve the quality of life for residents in Derwent, Chaddesden, Oakwood & Spondon. The Healthy Living Centre, based in neighbouring Chaddesden, will distribute tickets to local families and service users, offering the opportunity to experience one-day cricket at their local county club.

Derbyshire County Cricket Club Chief Executive, Ryan Duckett, said: “Having a Community Fixture is an important part of our strategy to grow the game and we are grateful to the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation and Revive for their continued support.

“It was pleasing to see large crowds for the recent Vitality Blast competition, many of whom were joining us for the first time. This is another opportunity to introduce a wider audience to cricket and hopefully those joining us next month enjoy their experience and spark an interest in cricket.”

One-day cricket is back in the height of summer!

Derbyshire compete in enthralling 50-over cricket this August, including the visit of Yorkshire to Queen’s Park. Find out more and book tickets for all home matches now.
