Derbyshire host local league finals

The Incora County Ground hosted two local league finals on Friday evening, with Alfreton lifting the Butterley Cup and Swarkestone claiming the OJ Jackson Cup.

The double-header kicked-off with Alfreton vs Clowne Town for the Butterley Cup – Sponsored by Belper Independent Financial Solutions, with Clowne Town winning the toss and fielding.

Ifran Mirza and Sam Walker each claimed two wickets, as Alfreton set 119-6 from their 100 balls, with Matthew New (30) top-scoring, before he also claimed 2-19 as Clowne Town were restricted to 112-4 in their reply.

The second final was for the OJ Jackson Cup – Sponsored by My Own Cop, as Ben Hutchinson claimed a hat-trick across two sets of five to finish with figures of 3-19 as Ockbrook and Borrowash posted 110-6, before former Derbyshire batter, Nils Priestley, scored a match-winning 50 from just 21 balls to chase down the target with 28 balls to spare.
