Some of the world’s best players are coming to The Incora County Ground in 2024, as England Women host Pakistan in the first Metro Bank One Day International of the year.
Pakistan Women will travel to Derby to face England on Thursday 23 May, as both sides begin their preparations for the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup, with tickets on general sale now.
Pakistan stars such as all-time leading run scorer Bismah Maroof and exciting wicket-keeper batter Muneeba Ali, who scored the first ever WT20I century for Pakistan earlier this year, could cause damage to the English bowlers at The Incora County Ground.
Skilful spinners Nida Sar, made captain in April this year, and Nashra Sandhu have the quality to outfox the best batters in the world. However, the England side could boast players such as Nat Sciver-Brunt and young seamer Mahika Gaur, as well as Derbyshire-born duo Bess Heath and Sarah Glenn.
Derby has been a happy hunting ground in recent years for the English side, who have not lost a WODI fixture at The Incora County Ground since 2017. Sciver-Brunt registered a century in the last match here, as England chased down New Zealand’s target of 245 with three balls remaining.
Having won their most recent WODI, against South Africa, Pakistan will be looking to build on this success heading into 2024 as The Incora County Ground hosts the first of three One Day International matches between England and Pakistan.
