Falcons sign Fletcher for Vitality Blast

Derbyshire Falcons have signed New Zealand batter, Cam Fletcher, for 11 Vitality Blast fixtures, starting with tomorrow’s East Midlands Derby.

A big-hitting batter, Fletcher has scored almost 2,000 T20 runs in his career, with 11 half-centuries at a strike-rate of 131.14. He featured in three T20 fixtures for Glamorgan last season, scoring one half-century.

He was a part of the Auckland Aces side which won the 2023-24 Super Smash, with Fletcher scoring 180 runs across six innings.

The 31-year-old will be available for 11 Vitality Blast matches, with his first set to be the East Midlands Derby against Notts Outlaws at The County Ground this Friday night.

Fletcher joins the Falcons as a replacement for fast bowler, Blair Tickner, who will return to New Zealand for family reasons.

“He has played in the Vitality Blast before and will give us another option, as we go into a really intense block of fixtures.”
