Pathway duo sign first professional deals

Derbyshire Academy graduates, Harry Moore and Yousaf Bin Naeem, have signed their first professional contracts with the Club.

Moore, 17, made his List A debut last year, becoming the youngest-ever player to make an appearance for Derbyshire, while Bin Naeem, 17, has been a mainstay in the Second XI, recording his first Second XI Championship century against Leicestershire last season.

Both players have earned international recognition for their showings within the Derbyshire ranks, with Bin Naeem having been called up for the Young Lions last season, while Moore has been called up to the England Under 19s squad to face Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series later this month.

The Derby-born duo have also represented Repton School, with Bin Naeem captaining the side this season.

Both players have signed 18-month rookie contracts, which will run from Monday 1 July until the end of the 2025 season.

Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “Harry and Yousaf have already shown real promise and they will benefit from working even closer with our first team setup moving forward.

“It’s a testament to the hard work of our Pathway, led by Daryn Smit, to have produced two such exceptional talents and I’m excited to see them representing Derbyshire in the future.”
