The Opposition
Lancashire Lightning are second in the North Group table, three points ahead of the Falcons, with six wins in the competition so far.
Openers, Luke Wells and Keaton Jennings, have both passed 200 runs for the Lightning this season, but their overall batting has been strong, with runs evenly shared throughout their top-order.
With the ball, Australia all-rounder, Chris Green, has claimed 13 wickets, while England’s Saqib Mahmood has taken ten. Both will be looking to add to their tally at Derby and strengthen their grip on a quarter-final place.
Pre-Match Talk
Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, spoke to Club Media ahead of this week’s Vitality Blast fixture against Lancashire Lightning.
Having won their last two games, Arthur is hoping the Falcons can continue to build momentum against Lancashire, and Birmingham Bears on Sunday, to stay in with a shout of progressing to the knockout stages.
