Morley, Andersson join on loan for rest of season

Lancashire spinner, Jack Morley, will remain with Derbyshire until the end of the campaign, after his loan spell was extended, while all-rounder, Martin Andersson, has also joined on-loan from Middlesex.

Morley has featured in three red ball games this season for Derbyshire, claiming eight wickets and playing a key role in the win over Glamorgan last month, while Andersson, who has already signed a permanent deal with the Club for next season, will have the opportunity to get familiar with his new surroundings early.

Both players will be available for next week’s game against Northamptonshire, starting tomorrow (10.30am), with Morley available for all remaining fixtures. Andersson will miss the game against Middlesex at The County Ground, due to being ineligible to play against his parent club.

Both players come in to bolster the squad, after Nick Potts (side strain) and Anuj Dal (groin) were ruled out, while Sam Conners (hamstring), Matt Lamb (calf) and Alex Thomson (side strain) remain sidelined and working with the Club’s Medical Team.

Membership 2025 | Expectations Evolved

For more than 150 years, we have battled as underdogs. As we move into a new era of Derbyshire cricket, we strive for more.

We understand what it means to wear the Rose and Crown, to follow in the footsteps of the game’s greats and to represent this county with pride.

And while everyone thinks they know the Derbyshire story, it’s time to flip the script, to re-define everything you know and push for greatness.

Projects take time, and our time is now. In 2025, we play with Expectations Evolved.
