Derbyshire have named an 13-player squad for their opening Rothesay County Championship fixture against Gloucestershire at The County Ground, starting tomorrow (11am).
Wayne Madsen will lead out the side as Club Captain for the first time since 2016, as Derbyshire aim to make a strong start to the campaign on home soil, while overseas batter, Caleb Jewell, is in line for his Derbyshire debut.
Blair Tickner will arrive ahead of Derbyshire’s second game of the season, against Leicestershire, so the bowling attack will be led by Zak Chappell for this weekend’s fixture. Harry Moore misses out with a back issue, pending review from the Club’s Medical Team.

Gloucestershire will begin their season with wicketkeeper-batter, James Bracey, leading the side, as they await the arrival of Australia opener and County Championship Captain, Cameron Bancroft.
England Lions quick, Zaman Akhter, will be a key member of the Gloucestershire bowling attack, which also boasts the likes of Ajeet Singh Dale and Marchant de Lange. The trio claimed a combined 72 wickets last season.
