Former Derbyshire Captain, Barry Wood, will kick off the Derbyshire Cricket Society’s Winter Programme on Thursday 30 October 2025.
This is a rare opportunity to hear from the former Derbyshire Captain Barry Wood at the Central Co-op County Ground, in the first event of the Derbyshire Cricket Society’s winter programme. The event is on Thursday 30 October 2025, 12pm for a 12.30 start.
Barry Wood was a pugnacious batter who played 12 tests and 13 One Day Internationals for England. His First Class career spanned 20 seasons, mainly with Lancashire. He was appointed Captain of Derbyshire in 1981 and subsequently led the team to victory in the Nat West final.
He also played football including a spell during the 1970s with Bradford (Park Avenue) A.F.C. in the Northern Premier League.
