Top-order batter, Harry Came, has signed a two-year contract extension with Derbyshire.

Came, 27, has scored over 4,000 all-format runs for the Club, since joining in 2021, including five centuries, the latest of which came in his most recent innings against Essex in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.

He has been a mainstay of the Rothesay County Championship side this season, cementing the number three spot and scoring 808 runs, while he formed an effective opening partnership with Caleb Jewell in 50-over cricket.

Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “Harry has bought into the role we see for him in our batting lineup and his improvement is clear to see. He’s on-course to be one of our leading run-scorers in red-ball cricket this season, as well as playing an effective role for us in the shorter formats.

“He’s approaching the prime of his career and we are very excited to see what he can do over the next couple of seasons.”

Came added: “I love playing for Derbyshire and being a part of this group, so the decision to sign an extension was an easy one for me.

“It’s been a good season for me personally, but the whole squad is aware we need to turn those performances into more wins. We have more than enough ability to compete for trophies and that’s what I want to do over the next two years.”
