Pathway graduates, Yousaf Bin Naeem and Joe Hawkins, have signed new one-year deals with Derbyshire.

Hawkins captained the Derbyshire Under 18s to the 2025 ECB County Plate, while he made his first team debut in July. The all-rounder also featured for England Under 19s in two Youth ODIs against Ireland and Bangladesh.

The 2025 Boys Pathway Player of the Year will now be a permanent member of Mickey Arthur’s squad for the 2026 campaign.

Bin Naeem, 19, signed his first professional contract in 2024 and has made five first team appearances, including in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup victory over Notts Outlaws at The Central Co-op County Ground in August.

Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “Our Pathway is such a vital part of our Club, as developing local talent and having players who represent our Members on the field is crucial to any team’s success.

“Joe and Yousaf are two outstanding young prospects and they have both taken to senior cricket so well, whether it’s in the dressing room or out there on the field.

“Both will have opportunities next summer to play and keep developing their skills. We have a really exciting crop of young players, with good experienced professionals to learn from, and I’m looking forward to seeing what they can all produce in 2026.”
