Rain prevented any play on Day Three between Derbyshire and Glamorgan, after constant rain showers at The Central Co-op County Ground.
Heavy rain throughout the morning ruled out any play before lunch at The Central Co-op County Ground but following an improvement in the weather, the umpires were hoping the match could resume at 3pm.
The groundstaff had marked the pitch out and players were starting to warm up only for more rain to sweep in , forcing the umpires to call the game off for the day.
Coming on top of the loss of day one when strong winds prevented any play, it leaves Derbyshire with little chance of engineering the victory they need to take the promotion race into the final week of the season.
They still trail by 242 runs on first innings and Glamorgan, who are currently 25 points ahead of them, know a draw will be enough to put them on the brink of joining Leicestershire in Division One next season.
