How to follow the Falcons this winter

Posted on 13 November 2025
BBL: The Qualifier – Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Sixers

The cricket doesn’t stop for the Falcons this winter, with three batters set to showcase their skills overseas over the next few months.

From the world’s most destructive batter strutting his stuff in Abu Dhabi, to the Falcons GOAT making history at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, there’s plenty of action to follow before the start of the 2026 campaign.

Nye Donald: Abu Dhabi T10 (November 2025)

Selected by Falcons Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, for the Ajman Titans, Nye Donald will make his Abu Dhabi T10 bow when the competition kicks off later this month.

The Titans contain a number of players familiar to Vitality Blast fans, with former Falcon Zaman Khan joined by Moeen Ali, Rilee Rossouw, Alex Hales, Joe Clarke, Dan Lawrence and Will Smeed, all of which have featured in England’s premier T20 competition.

Donald enjoyed a stellar Vitality Blast with Derbyshire in 2025, scoring 449 runs while maintaing the highest strike-rate (216.90), hitting the most sixes (31) and scoring the most half-centuries in the competition with six.

His strike-rate in 2025 is the highest of any player in history who has scored 400 or more T20 runs in a calendar year, putting the Falcons opener among the most dustructive batters in the world.

Caleb Jewell: Big Bash (December 2025 – January 2026)

A Big Bash winner with Hobart Hurricanes in the 2024-25 edition, Caleb Jewell embarks on a new journey with Melbourne Renegades, with his debut set for Monday 15 December against Brisbane Heat.

Jewell was the leading run-scorer in all of county cricket in 2025, with more than 1,800 runs across all formats in his debut campaign for Derbyshire and he’s set to return in 2026. The fast-scoring left-hander has been in good form for Tasmania already this campaign and will be hoping to provide a spark for the Renegades in T20 cricket.

Wayne Madsen: ICC Men’s T20 World Cup (February – March 2026)

The Falcons’ all-time leading T20 run-scorer, Wayne Madsen, will take his innovative strokeplay onto the global stage in 2026, as he represents Italy at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

A legend of county cricket, renowned for his 360-degree range of strikes, scoops and sweeps, Madsen will make his first appearance in an ICC global tournament alongside fellow county players: Emilio Gay and Grant Stewart.

With more than 5,000 T20 runs to his name, including two centuries, Madsen will be aiming to make history with Italy, before returning to Derbyshire as Club Captain for the 2026 season.
