The 2025/26 Derbyshire Girls’ Pathway Cohort has been confirmed.
Ten players, ranging from under 14s to under 18s, will work within the Girls’ Pathway structure and continue their development towards playing in the Falcons Women first team in the future and possibly following in the footsteps of Pathway alumni Sarah Glenn, Bess Heath and Danni Wyatt-Hodge in playing for England.
There are three new additions, with Emily Bell, Kyrie-Anna Shelton and Mayra Singh joining the Cohort, while seven players move into the second year of their development programme.
Derbyshire Head of Women’s Cricket, Jon Dyson, said: “We have a nice blend of under 18 players within this second cohort, who are supporting our emerging players from the under 14 and under 16 age groups, it’s a great opportunity for those girls to step up and add another layer of responsibility not only to their own game but supporting the development of younger players.
“The development of young girls as people, as well as role models for the rest of the Player Pathway is an important part of the EPP. With the fast-paced changes in the domestic structure we need to ensure that Derbyshire identifies and develops players with high ceilings to give them every chance of transitioning into a Tier One Academy.
“They are at different stages of their development but clearly increased contact time and access to specialist coaching will provide them with the best opportunity to fulfil their potential. I know we have a group of players who will work extremely hard throughout the winter and look forward to supporting their skill sets, resilience and physical development”
