The 2026 Derbyshire Falcons Women squad has been confirmed, with nine new signings added to the ranks.
After a historic first season in Tier Two, Jon Dyson has moved quickly to strengthen his squad, with five new loan signings from Tier One Clubs and a further four permanent arrivals. Lara Shaw and Maria Andrews return on-loan from The Blaze, while Ellie Nightingale also re-joins in a temporary switch from Yorkshire.
Liv Baker (The Blaze), Prisha Bedi (Essex), Lauren Kenvyn (Warwickshire), Aamna Khan (Warwickshire) and Malisha Tennakoon (Warwickshire) will all spend the season with Derbyshire, with Matilda Gater joining from Staffordshire and Emily Hughes making the move from Notts. Beth Slater and Frances Lonsdale have joined following their release by Yorkshire.
Shaw was named Derbyshire Falcons Women Batter of the Year for the 2025 campaign and is joined by Bowler of the Year, Rhiannon Knowling-Davies, and captain, Adrianna Darlow, among those returning for 2026.
Megan Pittman, Pagan Hardwick and Millie Gray all depart the Club, we thank them for all their efforts and wish them all the best for the future.
Head of Women’s Cricket, Jon Dyson, said: “After making great strides forward in our first season in Tier Two, it was important that we built our squad further and add to the quality we have.
“We’ve learnt lessons from 2025 and have made greater use of the loan system this year, both in terms of incomings and to give our developing players gametime in Tier Three, which will create greater competition within our squad.”

Paul Borrington joins Falcons Women Coaching Team
Derbyshire’s 2012-promotion-winning opener, Paul Borrington, has joined the Falcons Women coaching team.
Borrington, who is among the finest batters to have played in the Derbyshire Premier League, appeared in 49 first-class matches, scoring two centuries and nine half-centuries. He featured in ten out of 14 matches, as Derbyshire claimed the County Championship Division Two title in 2012.
He will be working with the Falcons Women and passing on expertise from his playing career, while working alongside Head of Women’s Cricket, Jon Dyson, ahead of the team’s second season in Tier Two.
Dyson said: “Paul is a brilliant coach and someone who will bring a different perspective into our group. He’s got a fantastic history with our Club and can give great knowledge to our players as we prepare for the new season.
“It’s been a busy winter, but a very exciting one, we’ve welcomed a lot of new faces into the group and now our coaching staff is also taking shape.”
