England and New Zealand’s biggest stars have made strong starts to their 2026 WPL campaigns, ahead of their international fixtures at Derby this summer.
England Women skipper, Nat Sciver-Brunt, struck a brilliant 70 for Mumbai Indians against Dehli Capitals, while the all-rounder has also claimed three wickets across her two appearances so far.
Fast bowler, Lauren Bell, current holds the best economy rate in the competition, with her spell on WPL debut for Royal Challengers Bengaluru going at just 3.50 runs runs-per-over, as she claimed 1-14.
Spinners, Sophie Ecclestone and Linsey Smith, are also in action in India, with the former claimed 2-32 for UP Warriorz Women and Gujarat Giants. New Zealand duo, Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine, have also been in fine form in their opening two fixture. Kerr has already claimed five wickets, while Devine is the leading run-scorer with 133 runs at an average of 66.50.
England will return to Derby in 2026 for two huge fixtures at The Central Co-op County Ground against New Zealand (Vitality IT20) and Ireland (Metro Bank ODI).
Demand for tickets is at an all-time high, with the Early Bird Window still open and a huge winter of women’s cricket around the globe to come and the ICC T20 World Cup also set to take place on English soil next summer.
