In-form Abbas shines in Pakistan

Derbyshire’s overseas fast bowler, Mohammad Abbas, is enjoying a stellar start to the 2025/26 President’s Trophy in Pakistan. 

Abbas, who now has over 850 first-class wickets, began the season with three wickets against Pakistan TV, before claiming stellar figures of 6-27 in the first innings of the game against Ghani Glass to kick off 2026.

A Pakistan international and County Championship winner, Abbas claimed more first-class wickets than any other player in world cricket in 2025, picking up 100 dismissals at an average of just over 19. He has signed a two-year deal with Derbyshire, to represent the Club in the 2026 and 2027 Rothesay County Championship seasons.
