New Zealand’s Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr have been among the standout bowlers in the WPL, as they prepare to face England at Derby this May.
Devine (11 wickets, Gujurat Giants) and Kerr (10 wickets, Mumbai Indians) are the two leading wicket-takers in the competition, with both sides in contention for a place in the knockout stages, as the league phase enters its final week.
Enfland captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt, sits third in the run-scoring charts, with 219 from just five innings and will be hoping to help Mumbai Indians to a second-consecutive WPL title, although her international teammate, Lauren Bell may stand in her way.
Bell has nine wickets for table-topping Royal Challengers Bengaluru, with her economy of just 5.40 runs-per-over putting her among the most miserly bowlers in the competition.
Bell, Sciver-Brunt and the rest of the England team will face Devine and Kerr’s New Zealand in IT20 action at Derby on Wednesday 20 May, before taking on Ireland in a Metro Bank One-Day International on Thursday 3 September.
Demand for tickets is at an all-time high, with the Early Bird Window still open and a huge winter of women’s cricket around the globe to come and the ICC T20 World Cup also set to take place on English soil next summer.
