Derbyshire Falcons Women all-rounder, Maria Andrews, has been named in the England Under 19s squad for their upcoming tour of Australia.
Andrews, a product of the Derbyshire Women & Girls Pathway, returns to the Falcons on-loan from The Blaze for the 2026 season, but will miss the opening rounds of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup due to being away on international duty.
The off-spinner, who last season became the first Falcons Women player to claim a five-wicket haul in the Vitality Blast, will travel down under with the England squad for a tour comprising of a tri-series against Australia and Sri Lanka, with one ODI and two T20s against each.
Head of Women’s Cricket, Jon Dyson, said: “It’s great to see Maria included for the tour of Australia, as it shows all of the players in our Pathway the opportunities available to them if they work hard and keep progressing.
“Of course, losing a player of Maria’s quality for a few early season games will be a challenge, but I’m confident with the new signings we’ve made this winter and we will have a strong 11 for every game this summer.”
