Derbyshire has recorded its twelfth surplus in thirteen years for the year ending 31 December 2025.
As a result of increased income levels, the Club is pleased to announce a pre-tax surplus of £102k, while investment into the Men’s and Women’s cricket budgets hit record levels, and further developments were completed to improve spectator facilities at The Central Co-op County Ground.
In 2025, commercial income from sponsorship and hospitality grew significantly versus 2024 and the Club saw an increase in attendance at Vitality Blast matches as ticket revenue increased.
The Club’s Conference & Events arm of the business continued to grow last year on the back of successful events, such as the annual Fireworks Night & Fun Far, as well as a new Drone Show, and all despite not having a headline music concert.
Ian Morgan OBE, Club Chair from 2017 to 2026, said: “It is with great pride that we can announce a twelfth surplus in thirteen years and a testament to the hard work of everyone associated with the Club.”
“In very tough trading circumstances, brought about by the cost-of-living crisis and the damaging impact of the Government’s tax raising budgets, we achieved a surplus before tax, a result several clubs will envy.”
Chief Executive, Ryan Duckett, added: “2025 was another busy year for everyone associated with Derbyshire County Cricket Club. It will no doubt also prove to be a significant year in the history of the game in this country with the completion of deals that saw the first wave of private investment into The Hundred and the launch of the ECB’s new domestic structure for Women’s Cricket.
“On behalf of the Board and the off-field team, I would like to thank our sponsors, Members and all visitors to both cricket and non-cricket events for their continued support.”
The Club’s Annual Report and Accounts were approved by Members at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 25 March at The Central Co-op County Ground.
