New Zealand Women dominate T20 series

New Zealand v Zimbabwe: 1st T20

New Zealand began the Melie Kerr captaincy era with a dominant 3-0 series win over Zimbabwe at Hamilton.

Kerr, who starred as the White Ferns lifted the 2024 ICC Women’s World Cup, took over the all-formats captaincy from Sophie Devine in February, after the legendary all-rounder retired from One-Day Internationals last year.

The 25-year-old marked her captaincy debut with a stunning century as New Zealand secured a 92-run victory in the series opener, before her side held the tourists to below 100 runs in each of the other two T20s.

Debuting spinner, Neshi Patel, and seamer, Jess Kerr, each claimed five wickets in the series, the joint-most of any bowler as New Zealand stepped up their preparations for this summer’s IT20 series against England, which kicks off at The Central Co-op County Ground on Wednesday 20 May.

A limited number of Early Bird tickets remain, ahead of the deadline on Wednesday 11 March, with more than 75% of allocated seating already booked.
