INTERVIEW: Daryn Smit on 2026 Boys Pathway summer

Head of Boys Talent Pathway, Daryn Smit, reviews the 2026 season and updates on the future stars of Derbyshire County Cricket Club.

Building on the success of 2025, which saw the Under 18s lift the ECB County Plate to cap off an impressive summer across all age groups, Smit has been delighted by the progress made in 2026, as players continue to develop through the Pathway system.

In this interview with Club Media, Smit updates supporters on all levels of the Boys Pathway, including an excellent cup run for the Under 14s, Derbyshire representation in national competitions and progression into the Second XI.
