Derbyshire signed batter Matt Montgomery on a three-year contract, to start from the end of the 2025 season.
Montgomery, 25, has scored more than 3,000 all-format runs in his career, with two first-class centuries and a List A average of 41.81. He’s also an effective all-rounder in T20 cricket, having claimed 15 wickets for Notts Outlaws in the 2025 Vitality Blast, at an average of 18.06.
Montgomery joined the Falcons on loan for the One-Day Cup, scoring 422 runs at an average of 70.33, with two centuries and a fifty.
