Sean Abbott claimed 3-23 on his return to action, as Sydney Sixers beat Melbourne Stars to progress to the Big Bash final.
Abbott had been out with a side strain and not featured in the competition this year, after taking 11 wickets in just five matches prior to his injury.
The Australia international returned to the Sixers’ XI for their knockout clash with Melbourne, and he quickly made up for lost time by dismissing Nick Larkin with just his third delivery.
Abbott went on to dismiss Adam Zampa and Haris Rauf, as the Stars were all out of 99, securing a 43-run win and a place in the final for Sydney Sixers.
The Big Bash final will take place on Friday, with Abbott’s side facing either Melbourne Stars or Sydney Thunder.
Having claimed 14 wickets in just six matches, at an average of 12.21, Abbott will be hoping to lift the Big Bash trophy, before joining Derbyshire for the first half of the 2020 season.

Ben McDermott’s Hobart Hurricanes saw their Big Bash end with a 57-run defeat to Sydney Thunder.
McDermott scored 13 runs in the Eliminator, as Hobart were dismissed for 140 in their pursuit of 198.
The wicketkeeper-batsman finished the competition as Hobart’s third-highest run-scorer, after compiling 265 at an average of 26.50, including one half-century.
