Former Club Secretary, Reg Taylor, passes away

The Club is saddened to learn of the death of Reg Taylor who died earlier this week.

Reg, born in Derby in 1933, was Derbyshire’s Secretary (CEO) between 1993 and 1996 and on retirement was elected to the club’s General Committee in 1997, serving until 1999.

He served with the Royal Artillery during National Service before embarking on a 34-year career at Rolls-Royce as a civil engineer, but continued his military service as a member of the Territorial Army, and also played for and captained Aston-on-Trent Cricket Club.

Everyone connected with the club sends their condolences to Reg’s family and friends.
