Tony Palladino has left Derbyshire after ten seasons with the club.
The 37-year-old seamer, whose contract has not been renewed, departs as the club’s leading wicket-taker in first-class cricket in the 21st century.
Arriving from Essex in December 2010, Palladino was an integral part of the 2012 County Championship Division Two title-winning side, claiming 56 wickets at an average of 25.55 as Derbyshire earned promotion.
He also proved himself to be a useful lower-order batsman, amassing 2,465 runs, including a century against the touring Australia A side in 2012.
Palladino, who was awarded a testimonial year in 2018, leaves Derbyshire with 374 wickets in 146 matches across all formats, including 16 five-wicket innings and best figures of 7-53.
Head of Cricket, Dave Houghton, said: “Tony has been an excellent bowler for Derbyshire, a master of his craft and with an unerring action which has served him well throughout a successful career.
“We have given opportunities to a number of young bowlers this season and they’ve performed well across first-class and one-day cricket.
“They’ve proven they are ready to compete at a professional level and we want to continue to see that talent progress, ultimately meaning that there will be no place for Tony next summer.
“On behalf of everyone at Derbyshire, I would like to thank Tony for his performances and longevity with the club and wish him all the very best for the future.”
