VIDEO: Hosein thanks Members for support after announcing retirement

Harvey Hosein has thanked the Derbyshire Members and supporters after announcing his retirement from professional cricket.

The wicketkeeper-batter, 25, has taken the difficult decision following struggles with concussion, and will now focus on completing his finance qualifications and perusing a career in that sector.

In an interview with Derbyshire TV, in which Hosein talked through the factors which have led to his decision and plans for the future, he thanked the Derbyshire supporters for making his time with the Club so enjoyable.

“I’m just so grateful to all the Members and supporters,” said Hosein.

“Being a local player, who came through the Academy and into the first team, they have always been fiercely loyal towards me and very kind over the years.

“I just want to reiterate to them how thankful I am for all of them, and I will hopefully see them soon.”
