Anuj Dal has signed a one-year contract extension with Derbyshire.
All-rounder, Dal, has scored 1,105 runs for Derbyshire across all formats, while he’s also picked up 20 first-class wickets at an average of 28.70.
The 25-year-old scored his maiden first-class century (106) in September, when he and Brooke Guest put on a club-record 227-run partnership for the sixth wicket against Leicestershire. In his final four games of the campaign, Dal compiled 287 runs at an average of 47.8.
After signing this new deal, Dal joins Tom Wood, Alex Hughes, Mattie McKiernan and George Scrimshaw in committing his future to the Club since the season’s end, while promising quick Sam Conners also signed a one-year extension in August.
Chief Executive, Ryan Duckett, said: “Anuj showed real promise last season with both bat and ball, particularly in the final four Championship matches, and his work-rate and attitude is exactly what we want within the squad.
“Mickey [Arthur] is keen to work with Anuj, and we’re really looking forward to seeing him build on his positive performances across the formats.”
Dal added: “I love being a Derbyshire player and I want to continue my development here. 2021 was a difficult season for all of us, but I really felt like my performances towards the end of the year were starting to reflect my progress.
“With Mickey arriving soon, it’s a really exciting time for the Club and I’m pleased to be a part of it. Hopefully we can kick on as a squad and start challenging on the field again.”
