On his first day as Derbyshire Batting Consultant, Ian Bell has expressed his delight at working with Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, and set out his aims for the role.
The former England batter, who amassed over 7,000 runs in Test cricket, will form a key part of Derbyshire’s Coaching Staff for the first two months of the season.
Since his retirement as a player, Bell has had coaching stints with England U19’s, Hobart Hurricanes and Birmingham Phoenix.
“Hopefully I’ll bring some excitement and encouragement to my role here alongside helping Mickey [Arthur],” he said.
“He is a world class coach. If you went through the whole of County Cricket, all 18 Head Coaches you would argue he is the most experienced and probably the best.”
