England viewing record set in Derby

Last month’s Vitality International Twenty20 fixture between England and South Africa, at The Incora County Ground, set a new record for viewers of an England Women’s bilateral match.

The fixture, which was simulcast on Sky Sports and BBC2, achieved an average viewership of 750,000, taking it ahead of the first Vitality IT20 v New Zealand last year.

More than 2,500 supporters attended the match in person, creating a great atmosphere as Derbyshire continues to be one of the premier venues for women’s international cricket in England, and they were treated to world-class entertainment on and off the field, thanks to fun games and activities in the We Got Game activation area, which including a digital whiteboard, a polaroid photobooth and have-a-go installations such as target challenges.

The eyes of the world will be on Derby again, as England take in Commonwealth Games silver medallists, India on Tuesday 13 September. Heather Knight’s side will be looking to continue their Incora County Ground unbeaten streak, which began in 2017.

World-class international cricketers, such as Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Sophie Ecclestone and Katherine Brunt will go head to head in a potentially series-deciding cash at Derby.
