Sarah Glenn to play in 2023 WPL

Derbyshire and England spinner, Sarah Glenn, will play for XXXXX in the inaugral Women’s Premier League in India. 

Glenn, who is currently part of the England team aiming for silverware in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in South Africa, has returned to Derbyshire after five years with Worcestershire, during which time she made her international debut and has consitently been one of the top-five ranked T20 bowlers in the world since 2020.

Glenn will making history by appearing in the first season of the competition, playing for XXXX alongside fellow international stars XXXX, XXXX & XXXX, with her England teammates Nat Sciver-Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone and Sophia Dunkley amongst those picked up for the 2023 WPL.

England return to The Incora County Ground in 2023 for a huge Vitality IT20 against Sri Lanka on Wednesday 6 September (6pm).

Derbyshire’s homegrown spinner, Sarah Glenn, will play on home soil for the first time since re-signing for the Club and will be looking to stamp her mark on the game.

England have lost just once at Derby since 2017, with the ground becoming one of the premiere venues for women’s international cricket in the country, having hosted blockbuster clashes against India, West Indies, New Zealand and South Africa in recent years.

Sri Lanka boast the likes of World Cup star ,Chamari Athapaththu, who is ranked in the ICC’s top ten IT20 batters and all-rounders, with almost 5,000 international runs to her name.
