Aitchison ruled out for the remainder of season

Fast bowler, Ben Aitchison, will miss the remainder of the 2023 season after picking up a lower back injury during the LV= County Championship fixture against Worcestershire.

Aitchison, who has claimed 68 first-class wickets for the Club, left the field on Day One of the match and underwent a scan to determine the extent of the issue, with the results confirming he will be out for the rest of the campaign.

The 24-year-old will work with Derbyshire’s medical team throughout his recovery and rehab ahead of the 2024 pre-season.

Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “It’s a blow to lose Ben, as he is a key member of our bowling attack, but we will work with him throughout the remainder of the season, and the winter, to give him the best possible preparation for a successful comeback in 2024.”
