Derbyshire sign Martin Andersson from Middlesex

Derbyshire will sign all-rounder, Martin Andersson, on a two-year contract from Middlesex, ahead of the 2025 season.

Andersson, 27, has scored more than 2,000 runs and claimed 110 career wickets across all-formats, including best figures of 4-25 in first-class cricket.

With the bat, Andersson was the leading run-scorer for Middlesex in their Vitality Blast campaign, accumulating 282 runs across 11 innings, including two half-centuries, while he also topped the overall charts in the Second XI T20 competition.

He will re-join Derbyshire, where he enjoyed a short loan spell in 2018, ahead of the 2025 season and becomes the Club’s first addition for the winter.

Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “Martin is a player who can offer a lot with bat and ball, and it’s great to welcome him to our squad for next season and beyond.

“We’ve made a strong start to our recruitment for the winter and we’re working hard to add to our squad, while also developing the unit we have to be stronger moving forward.”

Andersson added: “Everybody in cricket can see Derbyshire is a club moving in the right direction, and I am delighted to be joining the squad at this exciting time.

“Mickey Arthur is a top class coach, and I believe I will be able to make a significant contribution to Derbyshire in all formats of the game.”
