Getting to Know: Martin Andersson

Derbyshire are thrilled to announce the signing of all-rounder Martin Andersson. Here, we take a look at Martin’s career so far.

Andersson will be familiar to Derbyshire supporters, having had a brief loan spell with the Club back in 2018, claiming figures of 4-25 on his sole appearance.

Andersson, who has a Swedish father, joins Derbyshire on a two-year deal and will be available across all formats.

The right-hander topped the run-scoring charts for Middlesex in the 2024 Vitality Blast, with two half-centuries and a high score of 57. He also hit the most fours (29) and sixes (10) for his side, as the Lord’s based side struggled once again in the shortest format.

In last year’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup, Andersson had a brilliant campaign averaging 50.75, with his best innings coming against Nottinghamshire when he smashed 100 off 80 balls.

Capable with the ball in hand, Andersson has claimed 110 all formats wickets, with four four-wicket hauls in first-class cricket so far.

Andersson recently scored 46 for Middlesex at The County Ground, as Derbyshire ran out victorious by nine wickets.

Welcome to Derbyshire, Martin!
