Derbyshire Women & Girls Pathway graduate, Sarah Glenn, has been named in the England Women squad for the Metro Bank One-Day International against West Indies at The County Ground on Friday 30 May.
Glenn, who was born in Derby and developed under the coaching of the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation, has good memories of facing the West Indies at Derby, having been named Player of the Series in 2020.
The Charlotte Edwards & Nat Sciver-Brunt of ODI cricket begins at Derby, and the new Head Coach and captain have named Glenn in the squad for the series, alongside The Blaze’s opening batter Tammy Beaumont and spinner Linsey Smith – the leading wicket-taker in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
There are ODI returns for Alice Davidson-Richards (Surrey) and Emma Lamb (Lancashire). Davidson-Richards last represented her country against Sri Lanka in an ODI in September 2023, while Lamb is the leading run-scorer in the country, also taking 12 wickets in her opening six matches for Lancashire.
Sciver-Brunt will lead England Women in 50-over cricket for the first time when they take on West Indies at The County Ground on Friday 30 May, during the half-term break.
