Three of England Women’s biggest stars helped Hobart Hurricanes to the 2025 Women’s Big Bash title in Australia!
England captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt, spinner Linsey Smith and Derbyshire Women & Girls Pathway alumni, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, were all in fine form throughout the competition.
Wyatt-Hodge, who is England Women’s all-time leading run-scorer in T20 cricket, blitzed 432 runs in ten innings, the most by an overseas player in WBBL|11. Smith, who claimed a five-wicket haul against West Indies at Derby in May, took two wickets for just eight runs in the final, while Sciver-Brunt performed steadily with bat and ball.
New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, who will face England at The Central Co-op County Ground next summer, guided her Perth Scorchers side to the final, but fell short due to a stunning innings from Lizelle Lee.
England will return to Derby in 2026 for two huge fixtures at The Central Co-op County Ground against New Zealand (Vitality IT20) and Ireland (Metro Bank ODI).
