Derbyshire return to red ball action with the visit of Gloucestershire to The Central Co-op County Ground for the Rothesay County Championship fixture, starting tomorrow (11am).

A 13-player squad has been named for the game, with captain Wayne Madsen set to feature for the first time this campaign, having recovered from the shoulder injury sustained during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup – click the video below to watch his full interview with Club Media.

Martin Andersson will be aiming to continue his fine form with the bat, while Muhammad Abbas, Ben Aitchison, Zak Chappell and Shoaib Bashir all made big contributions with the ball at Emirates Old Trafford last time out.

Luis Reece misses the game due to personal issues, Harry Moore has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a back stress fracture, while Abbas will join up with the Pakistan national team after this fixture and will miss the following three County Championship games: Kent (A), Northamptonshire (H), Middlesex (A).

Derbyshire Squad:

77. Wayne Madsen (c)
4. Harry Came
9. Martin Andersson
12. Nye Donald
13. Shoaib Bashir
14. Ben Aitchison
21. Matthew Montgomery

The Opposition

Gloucestershire are bottom of Division Two having tasted defeat in each of their three fixtures so far, picking up just three points.

Miles Hammond (213) leads the way with the bat, while James Bracey is the team’s only centurion in the first month of the campaign. Matt Taylor (8) and Will Williams (7) have made solid impacts with the ball in their opening three appearances of the season, but will be hoping to bring their averages down this weekend.
