Pat Brown: The Road To Recovery

Pat Brown has opened up about playing through the pain barrier in the 2025 Vitality Blast and is targeting making an impact in the business end of the competition this summer. 

Brown initially sustained a shoulder injury when away with the England Lions in Australia in January 2025, although it only affected his ability to throw in the field at the time. However, while it never impacted his match fitness, the issues did affect his bowling as the Vitality Blast progressed.

The former Vitality Blast winner came away from the tournament with 12 wickets from 13 appearances, which was significantly down on his average output in a T20 season.  The four-time England international refuses to make excuses about his performances, but admits he can now accept his injury played a part in his frustrating campaign.

Having undergone surgery over the winter, it is unlikely Brown will be fit for the start of the 2026 Vitality Blast, but the Falcons quick is aiming to make his mark towards the back end of the tournament and help guide the team to glory.
