Derbyshire duo, Martin Andersson and Ben Aitchison, have been named in the PCA Team of the Month for May.
Derbyshire Women & Girls Pathway graduate, Bess Heath, has also been named in the PCA Women’s Team of the Month after an excellent May with Durham.
Andersson captains the men’s side after topping the MVP rankings with 149.18 points. The 29-year-old excelled with both bat and ball throughout the month, highlighted by a match-winning 57 and career-best figures of 6-23 against Leicestershire in the Vitality Blast.
Known chiefly for his contributions with the ball, Aitchison also showed his prowess with the bat in May by scoring a maiden first-class century at Lord’s just a day after claiming his first five-wicket haul of the campaign. He was a key performer in Derbyshire’s back-to-back wins over Northamptonshire and Middlesex in the Rothesay County Championship and has been ever-present in the Vitality Blast.
Both will be in action for the Falcons thos Sunday against Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge, before returning to red ball action for fixtures against Durham and Lancashire, with the latter taking place at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield from Friday 19m June.
