On Monday, 8th June, a team of 16 walkers from Derbyshire Cricket Foundation took on the High Peak Edges Hiking challenge – a 22-mile route through the heart of the Peak District, with over 1,300 metres of ascent.
Thanks to the amazing support of our friends, family, and wider cricketing community, we are delighted to announce that we raised a fantastic £6380.66 + Gift Aid, taking the total to over £7800.
These funds will be ring-fenced to our Play-On Programme, dedicated to breaking down barriers and opening up more opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to access the game of cricket. Whether through the provision of kit, subsidised sessions, or transport support, this fund will make a real difference to those who need it most.
We are so proud of everyone who took part, donated, or helped to spread the word. Your generosity, energy and encouragement has raised a fantastic amount of money and will make a real impact.
We’ll be sharing updates on our Play-On Programme in the coming months, so stay tuned, and thank you once again for helping to make cricket more inclusive, accessible and welcoming for all.
The High Peak Circular Challenge JustGiving campaign remains live until the end of June, so if you want to help us pass £7000 (+Gift Aid) and support our ambitions to build the Play-On Programme, you can donate directly HERE.
“As a team, we wanted to go bigger than 2025 (in distance and Fundraising), and to have the majority of the team all pulling together in the same direction was so rewarding. I’m incredibly proud of the efforts of everyone taking part and extremely thankful to anyone who has donated to this cause, these funds will help us make a real difference to those who cost is a barrier to participation. There’s still time to donate, and we would like to have the maximum impact possible. Look out for the 2027 challenge to be released over the coming months.”
